About Us

Rhonda Cullens received her first camera as a seven-year-old, and her love of photography soon matched that of her father and grandfather. She took photography classes in high school and college, where she met her future husband, Chane. While they were dating, Chane bought his first camera and they started photographing together. Eventually, with two sons active in sports, Rhonda and Chane evolved into sports photographers. Now that their sons are grown, Rhonda has been able to join Chane on his many business trips around the world where they have enjoyed capturing their travel adventures together.

Rhonda and Chane have given many presentations and workshops on photography to a variety of groups and photography clubs. They compete and exhibit regularly with the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club, where Rhonda serves as Exhibit Chair. Their work has been showcased in their own large exhibits as well, including a two-month exhibit at the Newtown Municipal Center featuring over 300 of their photos.

Rhonda and Chane are Master Members of the New England Camera Club Council (MNEC). Rhonda serves as NECCC Vice President in charge of publicity and the club services packet. Chane services as NECCC Photography Conference web developer and leads monthly meetings on keeping clubs active.

Rhonda’s work has received many awards, among them inclusion in the Connecticut Association of Photographers Tops in Connecticut competitions and the NECCC 2019 Best Landscape Image.

Chane has taken many award-winning photos. In 2017 he won the NECCC Conference 1st Place Monochrome Print Portrait Award. The previous year two of his photos were accepted by the Connecticut Association of Photographers for their TOPS 100 selection. He also won the Best in Show Award at Flagpole Photographers’ annual competition 2019 and prior to that won the club’s annual Nature Award which earned his photo a permanent placement on the wall of the town library.

Chane and Rhonda have been judging for regional camera clubs for years including both monthly competitions and annual competitions. They offer insightful critiques and suggestions to allow the maker to increase the strength of their photos.
